With Steve Morse the very essence of the joy of playing and jamming is so readily audible in the sound - upon hearing his work we instantly recognize that warm and the vital joy – and the sunnily smiling willingness to grasp the moment on any venue. All this is possible due the sublime technical command, of course, but the substance always comes through without a shred of sterility or pretentiousness in it.
