This is the most perfect piece of pop from Australia in 1976. Cricket parlance after Australia had smashed England and the West Indies in the previous summers and informed the world that the Aussie DNA was aubviously the best in the world. A superb piece of LA poolside coke-slick-pop even if there was no coke involved. Darryl looks about 60 but it shows why hair helps.
Brian Johnson, lead singer with hard rock band AC/DC since 1980 also hailed from
my neck of the woods here in the North East of England. Just another response to
Andrew Jamieson, as you are probably aware AC/DC were actually from Australia.
There will never be another band in the history of rock as dynamic as Sherbet. Gifted musicians, excellent performers, international sex symbols, and tireless humanitarians. Thank you.
Andrew Jamieson mentioned that some of the original band members from Sherbet
had since passed away, which is a shame. Here in the UK we too have lost quite a
few musicians from bands of that era. Such as Brian Connolly and Mick Tucker (The
Sweet) Les Gray (Mud) Freddie Mercury (Queen) Marc Bolan (T-Rex) George Harrison and John Lennon (The Beatles) Gerry Sheppard (The G Band) these are just a few
who spring to mind.
